Courses & Teaching
Laura has taught in all 4 years of the nursing program. More recently, she has focused on teaching Health and Healing courses in Years 1 and 4, as well as supporting Year 2 students in acute care clinical practice. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Laura serves as the Indigenous Student Liaison, Year 1 Team Lead, and Clinical Teaching Mentor for new clinical instructors.
Biography
Laura began her nursing career working on medical and surgical units at Kelowna General Hospital. In 2010, she joined UBC Okanagan and began her career in nursing education. She continues to maintain a clinical connection through her casual role as a medical-surgical Clinical Nurse Educator at Kelowna General Hospital.
Courses & Teaching: Courses include acute care clinical experiences and lecture courses across years 1-4. Laura has also worked as the Practice Placement Coordinator and in Team Leader roles.
