Biography

Born and raised in the Okanagan Valley, Dr. Lamb has come to identify as an uninvited guest in the Syilx Okanagan traditional, ancestral and unceded territory. Her commitment to reconciliation and learning to live better in this place is deeply rooted in her role as a mother, and the seventh-generation principle to leave this place better for the future generations.

Dr. Lamb joined the School of Education in 2021, after working the Office of the Vice-Principal Research  & Innovation for five years where she developed and coordinated strategic work plans, and supported infrastructure projects and other major funding competitions.

Her doctoral work, “A Critical Bond: Cultural Transmission and Nation-Building in Métis and Chicana/o Picture Books” focused on the role of literature as a tool for decolonization, recovery, and assertion.
