Biography

After graduating from the BSN program at BCIT in 2008, I relocated to the traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation to start my career as a Registered Nurse at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. My experience in acute care was primarily on a medical/telemetry unit. In 2016 I pursued my interest in chronic disease management and started working as a Certified Diabetes Educator in Kelowna. During my time as a Diabetes Educator, I realized I had a passion for teaching, which led me to UBCO in 2021. I thoroughly enjoy teaching second year nursing students in the lab and clinical setting. I recently started working in a Nursing Practice Placement Coordinator role and plan to continue teaching second year lab and clinical groups.

Responsibilities

The Nursing Practice Placement Coordinator (NPPC) is responsible for the planning and coordination of nursing student practice experiences throughout the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.
